I'm reminded to pay attention to what I have, to acknowledge, understand, and act on what I can do, and always be glad I was given the chance in the first place.
The last few days I've been dreaming more than usual. Which means I've been sleeping more than usual. What? I mean, the school semester hasn't started yet. Stop riding me.
Back to the dreams. Sometimes, dreams can be a good thing. Sometimes, they're not so good. My favorite was when I was a kid, after seeing a film called Salem's Lot (a vampire film with a standout scene where a floating vampire scratches on a kids window imploring the child inside to let him in, haunted me for years), I had a reverse reaction. Instead of a nightmare, I dreamed that the house where the movie ended and the vampire slaying and creeping commenced was more of a funhouse than a creep. I pied a vampire, very much in the style of 90's Nickelodeon. All I needed to complete the picture was a large vat of slime (remember that green stuff they dumped on the children in their game shows?) to dump on Frankenstein and it would be perfect.
After thwarting vampires Three Stooges style, the dreams began to go down a boring road. Lately, the boring road has hit a cliff and tried to follow it.
Two nights ago, a hillbilly with a gun shot me fourteen times and, surviving, I hobbled and crawled until I found a car. I operated it remarkably well for having extensive and massive gunshot wounds. Eventually, I stumbled upon an officer of the law who, instead of treating my wounds, enlisted me as a deputy to go bring this man to justice for shooting me. The fun stopped there. A repeat offender, my alarm clock waking me up for work.
Last night, I had a dream that reminded me of a person. When I napped earlier today, I had a dream that reminded me of the same person.
I woke up with a smile after the hillbilly gunfight dream. To put it lightly, I was not smiling after the other two.
I'm going to go play basketball and try not to sleep anymore.

The Happening.
Was stupid. I know that's old but I needed a title and I hate that director who relies on twists to dig emotion. Shamamamalyan? Where does his name end anyway? (and career as well?)
Touch on a few points to get back into the spirit of writing selfishly:
1) Lakers;
It's a good time to represent the yellow and purple. Andrew Bynum is healthy and establishing his presence in the league, on both the glass and his remarkable footwork for a 7 footer. Kobe is passing. Gasol is (with the exception of the game against Charlotte (4-17 FG)) ballin'. We'll see the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. My guess as to the Finals? If the Celtics keep playing the way they have and avoid another slump, the Celtics. But my allegiance to the Eastern Conference has to go with the Cavs and their still undefeated home record. I hate Lebron but he's a menace for anybody. Here's to a continuing, healthy, good season!
2) Avoiding Tickets;
Managed to avoid getting a 90+ speeding ticket on the freeway, and within five minutes, avoided getting a cell phone ticket. For one prone to being ticketed, I am, to say the least, a man identifying with his higher protector, guardian, superhero.
Justin is not so lucky.
3) Clint Eastwood;
Gran Torino. Need I say more?
4) Burritos;
I've been eating nothing but burritos for nearly five days. Why do they wrap everything in tortillas?
5) School;
Starting soon.
6) Basketball;
I've been playing again. Anybody want a game?
7) Music;
Fake Problems/Murder by Death on Feb 22nd. Also, go listen to the new (relatively) Dillinger Four. It's awesome.
And most importantly!
8) Job;
Quitting! Last day on the seventh of February, and on the eigth, I will be sleeping soundly. I will miss the paychecks but I will enjoy my bicycle.
An update to get back into the game. So it goes.
